Mirror: Manchester United pays attention to Leipzig striker Oponda, important striker target

The Daily Mirror reports that Manchester United is focusing on future signings and is paying attention to Leipzig striker Oponda.

It is reported that Manchester United regards Oponda as a target to replace Sancho and Martial next summer, and has sent scouts to inspect the Belgian international on site. Manchester United’s scouts inspected Oponda’s two rounds of the Champions League against Manchester City on site. He scored 3 goals in the two games.

Manchester United’s scouts originally inspected Lukba, but the scouts were deeply impressed by Oponda and Manchester United has seriously regarded him as a recruitment target.

The 23-year-old Oponda joined Leipzig from Lens this summer for 35 million pounds. He played 21 times for Leipzig and scored 14 goals.

In addition to Manchester United, Tottenham are also interested in Oponda. Any club that wants to take Oponda away is expected to spend £75 million.
